DDD Attends Irving Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The Dallas Derby Devils are honored to become a member of the Irving Chamber of Commerce and look forward to the opportunity to work with such a great group of influential people in our community.
The International WFTDA Playoffs and Championships tournament series, in its 12th year, brings together the most talented, highly trained skaters from WFTDA member leagues for game play that pushes the limits of the sport of all-female flat track roller derby worldwide. The Dallas Derby Devils hosted the final tournament of international playoffs, attended by over 1,000 patrons from across the globe, and viewed live by countless more via the online broadcast channel WFTDA.tv.
Dallas’ own all-star team, Army of Darkness, competed in the tournament as the 10th seed (WFTDA #34) amongst 12 of the top teams in the world. The Army of Darkness ended the weekend with two upset victories against Santa Cruz Roller Derby (7th seed, WFTDA #19) and Arizona Roller Derby (9th seed, WFTDA #27), and one loss to the Texas Rollergirls (2nd seed, WFTDA #6):

The top four placing teams will advance to the 2017 International WFTDA Championships in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania:
First Place – Victorian Roller Derby, Melbourne, VIC, AUSTRALIA (Seed #1, WFTDA #1)
Second Place – Texas Rollergirls, Austin, TX, USA (Seed #2, WFTDA #6)
Third Place – Arch Rival Roller Derby, Saint Louis, MO, USA (Seed #3, WFTDA #8)
Fourth Place – Minnesota RollerGirls, Saint Paul, MN, USA (Seed #4, WFTDA #11)
