How long have you been skating?

I started skating in 2012, but didn't start derby until the end of 2015.

When did you first hear about roller derby?

My first job was at a skating rink in Austin, and a lot of the local derby skaters would come and skate on their own time. I got to chatting with them and that's how I got introduced to derby!

How did you come up with your derby name?

I love video games and am also terminally online; my derby name is a reference to an old Super Smash Bros. Melee video from about 15 years ago lol

What position do you play?

I do it all! My first love will always be jamming, but it's fun to be a pivot too.

When you first started skating, what was the hardest skill to learn and how did you master it?

Plow stops, hands down. It's such an unnatural position to put your body in, which made it difficult to understand at first.

What is your favorite post-bout meal?

Pizza and a beer. Sometimes I'll go for a burger too.

What do you like to do outside of derby?

I spend a lot of time collecting and playing video games, but I repair old game consoles too.

Do you have any advice for new skaters?

When it comes to skills, you're gonna need the same thing explained in different ways by different folks. Listen to all of them, and distill that information in a way that makes sense for you!
