GINJA TURTLE #757, SUICIDE SHIFTERS, BATTALION OF DOOM

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE DERBY MEMORY?

One of my favorite memories so far and likely always would be when I got my first lead jam at B-team Champs at the end of last season. It was my first game ever with Battalion of Doom, and I remember getting through the pack and hearing the whistle. My jam ref was pointing at me! I was Lead! I heard the Dallas bench erupt in cheers. I could not help but cheer back.

WHAT’S THE MOST REWARDING ASPECT OF PLAYING THE GAME?

The overall exhaustion. It’s a true sign of effort. When you can exhaust yourself and your teammates because you’re all working hard towards a common goal, there’s nothing better than that. The soreness sucks, but I’d rather be sore knowing that everyone there is getting better because of our joint effort than to be feeling refreshed from only taking a few reps for my own benefit.

WHAT ARE YOUR NON-DERBY HOBBIES/ACTIVITIES/HIDDEN TALENTS?

I’m a big fan of ice hockey and play a drop-in whenever I find the time. I have a huge passion for cooking and hope to own a café one day. Also, I play a large variety of instruments (mostly string), work as a carpenter in furniture repair, and have a knack for throwing axes (I’ve even won some legit competitions.)

WHAT POSITION ARE YOU MOST COMFORTABLE PLAYING?

Jammer!

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU’RE SCARED TO TRY?

Not really. I prefer to take my fears head on!
