What prompted you to get involved in roller derby?

I used to work down the street from Mid-Cities, about 5 years ago I had a couple of skaters come into my store after practice. They told me what sport they played and told them I could never. They told me I could, I always kept roller derby in the back of my head and when I was looking for something for myself, I decided to give it a try.

The sport seems highly physical. Have you ever gotten injured?

Yes, my poor ankle the first 6 weeks of derby.

What's the most rewarding aspect of playing the game?

Beating my mind, when I do something that I never thought I could do. I'm pushed to do things out of my comfort zone, and I love it.

Is there anything you're scared to try?

Always, put you got to push yourself to not be afraid anymore. ONE day I will be able to jump the apex.

A big misconception is that all derby players are "tough broads" and not at all feminine. What would you tell them?

Derby is all shapes and sizes, do not judge what you do not know.

What are your non-derby hobbies/activities/hidden talents?

My doggos!

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

Drink all the water!
